When I have parties, calling in on people can be a little tedious, and sending only a message can make people feel insignificant. So I usually set up an event on Facebook and ask my friends to accept the invite. Though this is the easiest way to go about things, I sometimes find it a little awkward when only a certain group of friends is invited and the others get left out. I get this feeling especially when I am inviting my schoolmates for a reunion or my colleagues for a dinner.
A friend of mine suggested I use an app named ‘Friend Organizer’ by Apperdashery LLC. The app can be used to organize your Facebook friends list. To use the app you’ll have to log into Facebook and permit the app to organize your Facebook friends list according to your requirement.
Creating a customized friend list is easy. All you need to do is scroll through your friend’s profile pictures, or search for a particular friend by typing in their name. Next, drag and drop the chosen friend’s name into the list. Using the app you can create different kinds of lists under different sections such as school, college, work, book reading group, dance group etc. Just as you create new friend lists with the app, you can also use it to delete friends from lists, or delete lists altogether.
Now with Friend Organizer I am able to selectively invite friends to parties, specifically organized for that particular group of friends without hurting the others. Besides this, you can use the app to post updates and stories for a particular friend group, and even filter stories in your News Feed. The best part of using this app is that you can keep these lists private and none of your friends get notified when you add or delete them to your custom list. The app is compatible with iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch and requires an operating system of iOS 8.0 or later.
